How John Deere Uses BOM Transformation for Continuity Between the Engineering, Configuration, and Manufacturing BOMs

Session Description

Utilizing Multiple Bills of Material to streamline the communication of information from engineering to downstream users allows reuse of core information to produce a digital thread that empowers development and manufacturing. BOM Transformation and usage at John Deere allows us to work in the most familiar BOM views and enables downstream changes related to areas of our responsibility. And this Leverages more of our integrated environment and investment to work for us in a Digital Thread environment. We can manage the BOM information from CAD=>EBOM=>CBOM=>PBOM=>MBOM throughout, upstream and downstream. Major benefits include: Visibility and Awareness, common organizational structure for different domains, filtering, variant spec., visualization, configuration, organization, design in context, ownership and security.
