Unlock the Potential of Model-Based Definition by Using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Methods

Session Description

Model-Based Definition (MBD) offers companies many benefits and the means to increase quality, productivity, and throughput. In order to achieve these benefits, the Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) must be complete, consistent and unambiguous so that it can be machine readable. GD&T was developed to unambiguously define the requirements for each part feature in human readable form. In order to also be machine readable, however, this GD&T definition must include consistent semantic references to the CAD geometry. The complexity of the GD&T syntax and semantic rules can sometimes present a barrier to MBD adoption. So how can we effectively use GD&T to begin to unlock the potential of MBD? Attend this session to learn what GD&T is, why GD&T is so important to MBD, and how the MBD tools in Creo 4.0 and GD&T Adviser help users properly apply semantic GD&T to their products.
