Engineers and designers need to author their models so that their rich design data can be leveraged in downstream processes. This presentation will describe the unique requirements for CAD data for use in downstream processes, i.e. manufacturing and metrology. Furthermore, this presentation will show how Creo models need to be organized, and what they need to contain, in order to make the hand-off downstream as smooth and efficient as possible. Several examples, for different types of design and for different downstream process methods, will be shown to illustrate these concepts. In addition, the latest advances for transferring data to the supply chain will be shown.
