Joe Chapman is a principal engineer for The MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that operates research and development centers sponsored by the federal government. He has more than 10 years of embedded systems security experience at MITRE. His group’s research focuses on implementation security topics including cryptographic implementations, fault and side-channel attacks and countermeasures, and secure design practices and architectures. He recently supported the FDA in performing medical device cybersecurity assessments. Chapman holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in Digital Signal Processing and Communications Systems from Northeastern University.
